024 A Moment. To Be Seen. To Be You.

Candace and Tanorria are joined by food justice advocate and rockstar, Michelle Jordan. They share just exactly why being true to you is so important.

Michelle Anastasia is a community organizer, food and queer justice advocate, mentor, and alchemist who stirs the mortar of equity with truth, love, and compassion.

A member of a community of Black, Brown, and Indigenous folks curious about how to navigate themselves and each other outside of the white gaze, their commitment to holistic wellness and companionship is one that has kept them at the forefront of projects and initiatives that center the most pressing needs of the most marginalized.

Their bold voice continues to be a point of reference in other grassroots groups such as Indy10 BLM and Queering Indy, and they are often called on for their unwavering truth and commitment to lift up healing practices within justice work.

They are a celebrated chef, friend, partner, and community member, and their presence is as soothing as the first beer mentioned by Toni Morrison in “Sula”: received with almost tearful gratitude.
